Mumbai Airport Closed After Aircraft Carrying Eight Passengers Veers Off Runway During Rainy Landing Attempt
On Thursday evening, a VSR Ventures Learjet 45 aircraft with registration VT-DBL, flying from Vizag (Visakhapatnam) to Mumbai, skidded off the runway while attempting to land amid heavy rainfall. The incident occurred at approximately 5:02 pm on Runway 27, where visibility was limited to 700 meters due to the adverse weather conditions. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties at this time, although the extent of damage to both the aircraft and the runway is currently unknown.
The aircraft in question belonged to Dilip Buildcon, an infrastructure development company based in Bhopal. The crash has disrupted operations at Mumbai Airport, one of India’s busiest airports.
