Akshay Kumar, while promoting his new film “Mission Raniganj,” commented on the box office success trend, particularly praising Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster film “Jawan,” which has grossed over ₹1000 crore worldwide.
He noted that films like “Jawan,” “Gadar 2,” and even his own movie “OMG 2” have performed well in recent times, marking a positive trend for the industry after challenging periods due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Akshay expressed his hope that the Indian film industry could produce even bigger hits, aiming for ₹2000-3000 crore films similar to Hollywood, emphasizing the quality of Indian cinema and storytelling.
This comes after Salman Khan also commented on the evolving benchmark for box office success, stating that ₹100 crore is becoming increasingly common, and films should aim for ₹1000 crore to truly succeed at the box office. He emphasized that this new benchmark would apply to various Indian film industries, including Punjabi, Hindi, and Marathi films.
