The perpetrator of this heinous crime was none other than her own cousin, Irfan, who attacked Nargis in a fit of rage after she turned down his marriage proposal. The incident occurred at the Malviya Nagar park near Aurobindo College, a place Nargis frequently visited during her coaching classes.
It was revealed that Nargis’ family had already declined the marriage proposal due to Irfan’s inadequate financial situation, as he worked as a delivery boy for Swiggy. Consumed by his emotions, Irfan meticulously planned the murder three days prior to the attack.
Around noon, Irfan approached Nargis in the park, seeking to talk to her. When she rejected his attempt to communicate, he violently assaulted her with an iron rod, leading to her untimely demise.
The police quickly responded to the scene after being alerted, and Irfan was apprehended in connection with the murder. During interrogation, he admitted to his chilling premeditation of the crime.
The tragic incident has drawn attention from authorities, with Delhi Commission for Women’s Swati Maliwal expressing concern over the safety of women in the city. Maliwal emphasized that such incidents continue to plague society, and immediate action is needed to protect women from such atrocities.
As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of a promising young student, who met an unjust and heart-wrenching fate.
