New Cast Unveiled for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” Stage Show
The stage adaptation of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in London is set to feature a fresh cast, bringing new life to the beloved characters. David Ricardo-Pearce will take on the role of Harry Potter, Polly Frame will portray Ginny Potter, and Ellis Rae will play their son Albus Potter. The ensemble also includes familiar faces like Thomas Aldridge as Ron Weasley, Jade Ogugua as Hermione Granger, and Taneetrah Porter as their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley. Steve John Shepherd will embody Draco Malfoy, with Harry Acklowe stepping into the role of his son Scorpius Malfoy.
The play is based on an original story crafted by renowned author JK Rowling, along with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” continues the saga, picking up 19 years after the events that saved the wizarding world. This time, the narrative centers on a new generation of characters as they embark on adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The story promises spells, time travel, and a battle against enigmatic forces.
Having recently marked seven years at London’s Palace Theatre, the production is a collaboration between Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions, with direction by John Tiffany. Notably, this stage play is the first Harry Potter tale presented in theatrical form and serves as the eighth installment in the series.
