Communal Violence Sparks High Alert in Delhi NCR and Noida, Protests Expected; Authorities Implement Precautionary Measures
Following the outbreak of communal violence in Haryana’s Nuh and Gurugram districts, concerns over potential disturbances have extended to various parts of Delhi NCR, including Nirman Vihar, Vikas Marg, and Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
As per recent reports, the Bajrang Dal is anticipated to hold a protest march today in Noida and parts of Delhi, prompting authorities to barricade several routes to prevent any disruptions.
The protest, organized by the Bajrang Dal on August 2, Wednesday, will begin in Noida Sector 22A and progress towards Rajnigandha Marg in Sector 16, near the metro station. Due to the uncertainty of the protest’s exact locations, the Uttar Pradesh administration has imposed Section 144 in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) as a precautionary measure.
Authorities have advised people to avoid sectors in Noida near the Delhi border, as heavy security measures have been implemented in bordering localities of both Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Additionally, stringent restrictions are in place in parts of east Delhi and the Delhi-Haryana border.
Meanwhile, the situation in Nuh and other districts of Haryana is reportedly under control, with Section 144 in effect in Nuh, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Rewari. The authorities also temporarily suspended mobile internet services in the affected area.
The death toll from the communal violence in Haryana has reached six, including four civilians and two home guards on duty. Numerous policemen and civilians have sustained injuries during the clashes.
