Following her safe return from Israel after being trapped in the war-torn country, actress Nushrratt Bharuccha issued an official statement to share her harrowing experience and express her gratitude. She thanked the Indian government, the Indian Embassy, and the Israeli Embassy for their assistance in rescuing her.
In her Instagram statement, Bharuccha recounted the tumultuous week, highlighting the last 36 hours as the most unforgettable and challenging of her life. She had traveled to Haifa, Israel, on October 3 to attend the Haifa International Film Festival with her producer and stylist, alongside her Israeli co-actors Tsahi Halevi and Amir Boutrous for the screening of their film, “Akelli.” They had explored various historic sites in Israel before concluding their trip with a celebratory dinner for the film’s cast on the night of October 6.
Bharuccha described the difficulty of reaching the Indian Embassy in Israel, located approximately 2 km from her hotel, due to the lack of transportation options. She also mentioned the perilous situation in the region, with Hamas militants forcibly displacing civilians and random acts of violence.
Expressing her deep gratitude, she thanked the Government of India, the Indian Embassy, and the Israeli Embassy for their invaluable support and guidance in ensuring her safe return. Additionally, she extended her heartfelt appreciation to all her well-wishers for their prayers and wishes during this challenging time.
