Prime Minister Accuses Opposition Alliance of Undermining Sanatana Dharma, Citing Controversial Remarks by DMK Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin
New Delhi: In a forceful critique of the opposition INDIA alliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has alleged their intention to eradicate Sanatana Dharma and regress the nation into subjugation lasting a millennium. This statement was delivered by the Prime Minister during an event in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, marking his initial public response to the uproar surrounding DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statements regarding Sanatana Dharma.
He remarked, “They recently convened a meeting in Mumbai, and I believe they formulated the policies and strategies for governing the ‘ghamandiya’ alliance there. They have also set a concealed agenda. Their strategy is aimed at assaulting the culture of India, attacking the faith of Indians, and eradicating the thoughts, values, and traditions that have united the nation for countless years,” expressed the Prime Minister in Hindi.
Establishing a connection between India’s heroes and the Sanatana culture, he continued, “The ‘ghamandiya’ alliance has committed to extinguishing the Sanatana culture and traditions that served as a source of inspiration for Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. It was the strength of Sanatana that empowered Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmibai, to confront the British and declare her unwavering resolve to retain Jhansi.”
PM Modi emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi regarded Sanatana Dharma as integral to his life. “He drew continuous inspiration from Lord Ram. His final words were ‘hey Ram’,” he added.
The Prime Minister asserted that Swami Vivekanand and Lokmanya Tilak were also deeply influenced by Sanatana, and this cultural heritage motivated freedom fighters who faced execution by the British to express their desire to be reborn “in the embrace of Bharat Ma” once more.
